Keep the Faith

This powerful message challenges us to examine whether we're truly awake in our faith or simply going through the motions. Drawing from 1 Peter 1:3-9, we're reminded that our faith is more precious than gold refined by fire. The sermon asks a profound question: will we wake before we die? This isn't about physical death, but about coming alive spiritually right now, in this moment. We learn that keeping faith isn't passive—it requires intentional action. We must know what we believe, not just vaguely agree with our church, but deeply understand Scripture as God's love letter to us. We're called to feed our faith through God's Word, fellowship, and prayer, recognizing that a little faith gets us to heaven, but great faith brings heaven to our souls. The parable of the sower reminds us that some seeds fall on rocky ground and spring up quickly with joy, only to wither when trials come. The challenge before us is clear: will we be sprinters who start fast and fade, or long-distance runners who endure? In a culture of quitters—where we abandon diets, degrees, jobs, and even marriages—we're called to be different. Our faith offers something worth keeping: a living hope, an imperishable inheritance, and joy even in trials. The question isn't whether challenges will come, but whether we'll remain rooted when they do.
